INSPIRATION
Go plastic free or limit the use of plastics with eco-friendly alternatives. Enjoy sourcing reused or recycled items which can add a distinctive feel to your event.
Why not hire some or all of the outfits? Suit hire has long been an acceptable feature of weddings and other celebrations but bridal gowns, bridesmaids’ dresses and other guest outfits can also be hired.
Set a more sustainable trend with your hen and/or stag party. A distillery/vineyard tour or a craft workshop followed by an evening of great food and drink would have a minimal carbon footprint compared to an overseas trip.
Tracking down beautiful pre-loved rings will provide a truly unique piece of jewellery at a price comparable to something new. And just think how much fun you’ll have looking around antique shops! You might even be brave enough to bid at an auction, adding an exciting new chapter to your story and the ring’s history.
And lastly, an oldie but a goodie – food miles. The Vale is packed full of amazing food and drink producers and suppliers, so why not choose some of these when you’re planning the menu? Ask your venue for suggestions. It’s a simple way to add a bit of eco to your special day – and delicious too!
Celebration venues in the Vale will be more than happy to help you add a touch of green to your big day. Take a look at them.
