What's Trending in the Vale for 2023?

With next year’s diary filling up, we’re seeing how ceremonies will be in 2023!

1.   Sunday ceremonies. While Saturday is still our most popular day, we’re seeing a trend towards Sunday. With the working week becoming more flexible, the same is happening with the weekend and lots of couples are choosing to celebrate on a Sunday. And where a bank holiday Monday follows, our Sunday diary pages are very lively!

2.   Destination weddings. Leave everything behind, bring your family, bring your friends, and set up your dream day at one of our amazing destination venues. Take a tour of some of them at our YouTube playlist. Even if you don’t need to travel far, real life will feel a million miles away in one of these gorgeous settings.

3.   Local suppliers. Whether you’re traveling to the Vale for your ceremony or you’re local and know the area well, you’ll be bang on trend by supporting local businesses. There’s been a strong move towards seeking out those fantastic niche enterprises and discovering what’s nearby. Check out our supplier list for just some of what’s on offer.

4.   Sustainable celebrations. We can’t say this often enough, the eco-wedding is here to stay. We have lots of outdoor ceremony options in the Vale of Glamorgan so you can get married outside without racking up airmiles in the process.

5.   Winter weddings. Ok, so this is a 2022/2023 thing but with lots of couples still booking for this winter, this one can’t be underestimated. So wrap up warm, ask your favourite venue for their winter rates and brighten up the colder months by creating a beautiful day. You'll also be giving yourself the excuse to do that again every year with your winter wedding anniversary celebration.

6.   Cost-effective options. If you want a beautiful celebration that doesn’t break the bank, there a plenty of options in the Vale. Our own Vale of Glamorgan Suite can accommodate up to 60 guests, is in the heart of Barry with lots of reception options in walking distance and coming in at £200 or less Monday to Saturday, including the ceremony fee. There are lots of venues across the Vale that offer fantastic facilities and phenomenal photo opportunities for less than you might expect. Have a browse through our venues for inspiration.
